One of the coolest things about today’s technology is that musicians have the means of production to make and record music in ways they never did before. Add to that the popularity of video and the same means-of-production access and you have creative tools that were unheard of 30 years ago for any amateur musician to not only make music but to share and distribute it to the world.
From this, and through sites like YouTube, we’ve born witness to a veritable explosion of content – and probably one of the coolest phenomenons to arise has been the “virtual band” and the “one man band” styled productions of everything from your favorite cover songs to full blown original recordings from some of the world’s greatest bedroom and amateur musicians.
Stairway, being the song that it is, is one of those songs people love to cover and we’ll get a chance over time to explore as many of them as we can find and feature.
Well here’s a great One Man Band version of Stairway performed by JuJu, AKA jujucaster. JuJu combines elements of Stairway from Zeppelin’s live performance from The Song Remains The Same along with the studio version as released on Zeppelin 4. He does a fantastic job pulling the song together and has some really great moments. It’s obvious how much he loves the song and he took a lot of care to give a really solid quality performance. Visit his YouTube channel for more of his covers and originals. Good job on the Stairway cover JuJu! You get some really great tones and what is generally a very well recorded version and (I’m sure the ladies will agree) he looks great in the video too.
