Tremol-No
Have a floating Floyd Rose Tremolo and wish to make it a hardtail? Yes you can block it using wood in the cavity both in front of and behind the trem block (the thing the springs insert into) but then it’s blocked. For hartail on the fly (and there are some amazing advantages to turning your Floyd Rose equipped guitar into a hard tail) you should install and use a Tremol-No. Here’s what the one on my Hamer looks like. You can find it on Amazon for around $60.
